Le réseau DCE (Directive Cadre Eau) suit l'état écologique et chimique des cours d'eau européens. Les paramètres principaux mesurés à chaque station :

  • Nutriments : nitrates (NO₃), phosphore total, ammonium (NH₄)
  • Matière organique : DBO₅ (demande biologique en oxygène), DCO, COD
  • Physico-chimie générale : pH, conductivité, oxygène dissous, température
  • Pesticides et micropolluants : métabolites, métaux lourds, HAP, PCB
  • Indices biologiques : IBGN (invertébrés), IBD (diatomées), IPR (poissons)

L'objectif de la DCE est l'atteinte du « bon état » écologique et chimique pour toutes les masses d'eau de l'UE.
